Melanie brings an exceptionally gentle, smart, thoughtful approach to everything she does. She has been a Project's Director and Medical Assistant at Singular Pediatrics since 2015. Melanie has many talents; in addition to her role at Singular Pediatrics, she a certified Yoga instructor at the 200 hour YTT level and focuses on trauma-informed Hatha yoga. She was recently the yoga instructor to women and young girls at the Elliniko Refugee Camp in Athens, Greece. She has degrees in English, writing, and visual art. She is currently working toward her Bachelor's of Science in Nursing for an RN certification. Melanie is also the founder of Nosapo, a website and resource to serve displaced populations, activists, educators & facilitators, She has mentored high school age students in writing and art, taught special education English, was the ESL Administrator at the Boston Center for Refugee Health and Human Rights, and has volunteered teaching the English language in the Philippines, Thailand, Europe and America.
Susanne joined Singular Pediatrics in 2017. She brings a caring, competent approach and a wealth of experience in outpatient and inpatient pediatrics.
During the past 9 years she has served as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in various departments at Boston Children’s Hospital (Orthopedics, Emergency medicine, Pre – operative and Infusion Center). She worked at Chestnut Hill Pediatrics in Newton for over 20 years.
She has a Master of Science degree in nursing from the Massachusetts General Hospital School of Health Professions and a Bachelor of Science in biology with a minor in Italian. Type your paragraph here.
Marjie brings us a wealth of experience coupled to a huge heart. Her commitment to our families is boundless. During the past 15 years she has worked as Licensed Practical Nurse in a variety of pediatric settings, delivering medical care in offices and at home. She has many talents and interests, including patient and parent education in managing chronic disorders, skin care and electrolysis, sewing, swimming, cooking, and gardening.
She is our full time Office Manager at Singular Pediatrics and the glue that holds all of us together. She is a terrific advocate for your child and family. You will find her ever present at the front desk, managing calls, patient requests, referrals, insurance approval and much more. Beth worked over a decade as a staff and Assistant Manager for a large surgical group in Newton, following experiences at Newton Wellesley Hospital Emergency department and private practice.
Magaie is also known as "Magic Magaie" by many of our patients. She has an uncanny ability to give shots that "dont feel like shots". Magaie joined Singular Pediatrics in 2013 as a Medical Assistant. She brings significant experience in a variety of pediatric medical setting including Mass General Hospital and Boston Medical Center. She obtain growth measurements, vitals signs, and performs a variety of diagnostic blood tests and therapeutic procedures. Magaie lives with her husband and 3 beautiful children, she is fluent in French and French Creole.

Dr. Risko obtained two doctorate degrees simultaneously, a Doctorate in
Population Sciences from Harvard University and Doctor of Medicine degree
from the University of Massachusetts. After her pediatrics training, she joined
the Boston Children's Hospital as a general pediatrician and a faculty member
at Harvard Medical School.
At Boston Children's Hospital she co-directed the training of pediatric residents
in the primary care settings and held a variety of leadership roles in patient care,
health care administration, and quality improvement. Over the past decade,
Dr. Risko has contributed to pediatrics journals and textbooks, innovating in
areas of physician education and health system's improvement. After
13 years at Boston Childrens Hospital, Dr. Risko shifted her patient care
activities to private practice in Newton.
From 2007 to 2013, Dr Risko served as the first education
director for the PPOC - a physician organization comprised of 75
pediatric practices in Massachusetts affiliated with Boston Children's Hospital.
She was one of the architects of the medical home initiative for the PPOC,
and the main developer of the Care Coordination component of this program.
She has launched innovative decision support tools, algorithms
and curricula for practicing pediatricians.
She is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and has been honored with
many awards for excellence as a physician and as an educator including the over the Upjohn Achievement Award, the New England Pediatric Society Award, the Boston Children’s Hospital Community Pediatrician
Award, the Daniel D Federman Outstanding Clinical Educator Award from Harvard Medical School, the
Marilynn Haynie Award for excellence in Mentorship, from Boston Children’s Hospital.
Dr. Risko enjoys spending time with her husband and 2 children, as well as traveling, biking, reading great books and dancing. She is fluent in Portuguese and speaks some Spanish. She is a founder and owner of Singular Pediatrics, where she works full time.
